- The U.S. Forest Service, Northeastern Area State and Private Forestry, Urban and Community Forestry Program provides technical, financial, educational, and research services to States, cities, and nonprofit groups so they can plant, protect, maintain, and utilize wood from community trees and forests to maximize environmental, social, and economic benefits.

- The U.S. Forest Service, Northeastern Area State and Private Forestry, Fire and Aviation–Cooperative Fire Management Program focuses on the delivery of three key components (Stat Fire Assistance, Volunteer Fire Assistance and Federal Excess Property) that provide to state, local government and communities with the support for effective fire protection on non-federal lands to minimize the loss of life, property and natural resources.
